Pho Hoa - Vietnamese Delight

Written By clapalisoc on Saturday, 21 July 2012 | 01:41

Rainy bed weather days call out for some soothing comfort food leaning towards the soup type to bring some warmth. There is a wide range of restaurants out there to suffice the need for soups offering Bulalo, Ramen, chowders, Minestrone, briskets, vegetable soups, noodle soups and many more. One particular soup that got me drooling as I woke up this morning was of the Vietnamese type - PHO. There are a couple of Vietnamese restaurants in the market but my favorite one is Pho Hoa

Hubby was the one who introduced me to Vietnamese cuisine. We would frequent the Pho Hoa branch in Eastwood City when we were still dating. Their food offerings were simple and healthy yet, delicious. They have a proud menu boasting of soups, salads, rice bowls and rice plates, noodles, grilled meat, sandwiches, desserts and refreshments.

What got me jumping out of bed this morning was this --

Pho Nam, Chin, Gan, Bo Vien for 275php (large bowl)

A large bowl of steaming hot noodle soup made up of glass noodles (which sets it apart from other noodle soups in the market), flank, tendon, thin strips of beef and meat balls in a rich beef broth. This bowl was served with some fresh bean sprouts, basil and lemon in a separate plate. You have full control of how much of these fresh sides you would want to add. You can also throw in some chili sauce, if you want that spicy kick. A sure hit comfort food, with more meat than noodles! I can finish a large bowl on my own! :)

Some of our other favorites here are the following --

Mat Ong Cang Ga for 175php
Chicken lollipops are so much fun! I simply can't resist them whenever I see them in any menu. These beautiful pieces were perfectly fried and were crispy. They came with a sweet soy sauce based dip. One delightful appetizer for the young and young at heart.

Goi Cuon for 129php
Fresh spring roll with shrimp, pork, glass noodles, carrots, cucumber and some other herbs. They also have a vegetarian version for this. The rolls came with a salty peanut dip complementing the fresh vegetables. Such a refreshing start to delicious meal ahead!

Com Thit Nuong Cha Gio for 255php
Tender grilled pork with fried spring rolls and rice. Their fried spring rolls are also must try!

Their Kung Pao Chicken with peanuts and red chili (Chien Ga Ot Sung, Dau Phung) is also worth trying together with their Chili Shrimps with Rice (Com Tom Rim).

So go ahead, satisfy your bed weather soup craving! Pho Hoa will not fail you with each dish that they have in their menu.
