Classic Aussie Comfort Food - Outback Steakhouse

Written By clapalisoc on Wednesday, 9 September 2015 | 13:28

Outback Steakhouse is definitely one of the classics when it comes to Australian comfort food. They have been in the market for as long as I can remember. Remember the stand alone Outback Restaurant along C5? It's been there forever and it's still holding up just fine. What about that one in Glorietta? Really, you can't put a good man down.

Since we were in Glorietta the other day and hubby asked me to eat out for dinner, I immediately chose Outback. It's been ages since I last dined here. It was my first time in their Glorietta branch. The overall ambiance was notable - dim light and wood everywhere. It felt so privy.

We got a platter each of their Baby Back Ribs & Alice Springs Chicken Combo with fries and we opted for Rice Pilaf as our side.

Baby Back Ribs and Alice Springs Chicken for 999Php

The ribs were awesome! Fall off the bone, smoked, grilled to perfection with a sweet and tangy sauce. Meat was tender and I loved every inch of it!

A closer look at the wonderful ribs and fantastic chicken!

Then the Alice Springs Chicken - my golly good! Tender serving of flame-grilled chicken breast, topped with mushrooms and crispy bacon! To make it even better, the whole thing was smothered with crazy good melted Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese and served with some honey mustard sauce. Oh that sauce, I can use that as dip for whatever! Chicken gone in a breeze! Whiw!

Creme Brulee for 199Php

For dessert, I got an order of their Creme Brûlée. Honestly, it was good but I've tried a better version from Italianni's. The vanilla flavored custard wasn't as soft. Maybe because it was sitting in the ref for the entire day already? Caramelized sugar on top was warm but when you dig in, the custard was cold and won't give you a melt in your mouth feel.

Complimentary Bread

Oh by the way, their complimentary bread was good as well. Served warm, the Honey Wheat Bushman Bread was served on it's own cutting board with a soft whipped butter.

Overall, service was superb! Definitely one of the best places still for date nights despite being in the market for ages.
