So, this Matcha Oreo McFlurry came out because of Angry Birds and it got people crazy with my IG and looloo feeds exploding with pictures of this latest craze. Everyone got excited to try and see what it's worth. I got to try it this morning and thought it was okay.
Let me tell you why.

I'm a Matcha fanatic - from ice cream, cakes, pastries, latte and basically anything with Green Tea Matcha. My Matcha burnt tongue is accustomed to eating matcha and looks for a stronger kick of this green tea variant. This McFlurry has a very subtle hint of matcha, probably because they did not mix the matcha powder directly into the soft serve ice cream. They mixed matcha with lots of milk and made it into a chocolate like liquid that gets hard when mixed with ice cream. Remember the chocolate they use to dip their sundae in a cone? That's it! Also, the Oreo was more evident.

What I liked though were the "matcha chocolate" shards that you'll get in each spoonful. They give additional crunch to the mix which already has lots of Oreo bits and pieces. The matcha shards can be compared to Matcha KitKat in taste but then again with a very light matcha kick. For 50Php, this is not bad at all. If you like just a hint of matcha and no grassy bitter taste, this one will do!
