BLK 513 - Activated Charcoal in Your Frozen Yogurt

Written By clapalisoc on Thursday, 19 May 2016 | 13:40

It's very rare that we visit SM Megamall so when we did this week, I made sure to swing by BLK 513. Froyo is my thing and I used to spell dessert as F R O Y O until the stores selling this healthy treat closed out one by one. When I learned about activated charcoal in a froyo, I knew I got to try it.

It's easy to spot BLK 513. Aside from the line of people waiting to get their fix, the logo was simple but catchy. I lined up and while waiting, I checked their recommended mixes and their options since you can also build your own cup. Choose your preferred crumb (graham, cookie, oreo, etc), add in some fruits and finish it off with a sauce. I opted to get a cone instead of a cup and just asked them to put Matcha Milk Cake Sauce. I wanted to enjoy the yogurt as plainly as possible but of course, #matchove - can't resist.

Grayish black froyo - first of it's kind! There's a charm in it's dark color but then again I gotta try if it's worth the hype. Since I love froyo, I was positive that I'll like this. It's good, not the best and not something I would crave about but I liked it. The yogurt was thicker and creamier than the usual because they use Greek Yogurt. It's smooth and had just the right tartness. It wasn't too sweet as well but the Matcha Milk Cake sauce was. It tasted like condensed milk with hints of Matcha.

I would try this again if ever I'll have the chance but it's not something that would make me want to go to Megamall at any given time.

4 out of 5 Stars for BLK 513!
