Tuscany Estates is one location in McKinley Hill that's lined with lots of restaurants. It caters to quite a handful of cuisines - Malaysian, Japanese, American, Italian, Filipino and even Spanish. They also have dessert stops, wellness spots and even 24/7 convenience store!

A sponsored foodie meet-up led me to a burger bar that I haven't noticed before - Lucky's Burger & Bar! Tucked between spacious restaurants lining Tuscany Estates, along the area of Black Canyon, this burger bar has modern but simple interiors. Playing mostly on black and whites, incorporating wood details here and there, their main theme played on Mafia HQ with the restaurant's name coming from the Father of Mafia - Charles "Lucky" Luciano.

Their space was rather small and can house about 30 people comfortably and that's already combining their 1st and 2nd floors. We were welcomed by their Store Manager, Billy, who was very accommodating. He ensured that we had a great time and answered all of my queries.

They prepared a feast for us starting off with the following --

Lucky's Bacon Chips
Lucky's Bacon Chips for 295Php

This is their best selling appetizer. Thick and long slices of pork belly, bacon cut, marinated with their special house blend of spices, coated with a light and thin batter and deep fried to a crispy perfection - you'll get hooked munching these super crunchy treats! The bacon cut pork belly has not been smoked or cured so do not expect the usual distinct and strong bacon flavor here. Nonetheless, these were good! Dip 'em into their sweet and sour garlic sauce and you'll get a good contrast of sweet and salty OR opt for vinegar and you'll get a chicharon like appetizer. Either way, this dish is a perfect beer match!

Note: you can also order this with rice and egg - poached egg plus garlic and chive fried rice for only 185Php.

Beef Salpicao from Lucky's Burger & Bar
Beef Salpicao for 280Php

Served with toasted baguettes, this dish has beef tenderloin chunks, button mushrooms and some chili flakes in olive oil. The beef chunks were well marinated and tender and had a good garlic kick. I bet this will also be good with rice!

We also got to try two pasta dishes - oil and cream based --

Creamy Mushroom Truffle Pasta
Creamy Mushroom Truffle Pasta for 265Php

One of their best sellers, linguine was al dente but the truffle mushroom cream sauce was a little bland. I wished it was creamier and had more cheese but then the truffle kick was good enough.

Aglio e Olio from Lucky's Burger & Bar
Aglio e Olio for 215Php

Another best seller, this one has freshly chopped garlic, basil, tomatoes and chili flakes sauteed in olive oil. It has a good garlic flavor, subtle hints of basil but I would like it to have more olive oil.

For mains, we tried the following --

Peri-Peri Chicken Skewers
Peri-Peri Chicken Skewers for 255Php

I loved the tender chicken meat in skewers! Strong mix of spices from the peri-peri rub, I liked that it wasn't super spicy! This came with a cilantro dip that added flavor to the chicken. Also served with tumeric rice, that had a light curry like flavor, and crunchy french beans.

Grilled BBQ Pork Brisket
Grilled BBQ Pork Brisket for 245Php

Two pieces of nicely grilled but very thin pork chops, served with french beans and garlic & chive rice - this was okay. The meat didn't have any distinct flavor so you have to somewhat pair it with the flavorful rice or dunk it into the mushroom gravy.

Lucky Burger
Lucky Burger for 195Php

Bang for your buck burger that has 1/3 pound of all beef patty, char-grilled, served on a bed of crisp lettuce with tomato slices, topped with American cheddar cheese, thick bacon, grilled onions and finished off with Lucky's signature burger dressing. The patty was juicy and tasty and the burger bun was soft and good with black sesame on top. The bacon though wasn't as pronounced at it should be. But then again, I can eat this alone for lunch and will surely be filled and satisfied!

For dessert, we got the following --

Fudge Slices Sampler
Fudge Slices Sampler for 150Php

Three small slices of chocolate fudge squares with different flavors - S'Mores, Caramel and Turtle. All were super sweet with thick chocolate fudge topping. Turtle was unforgettable - caramel, nuts, chocolate - loved the texture and how the nuts went well with the sweet layers.

Lucky's Apple Pie
Lucky's Apple Pie for 130Php

Home grown family recipe, this was my favorite dessert! Packed with tender apple chunks in a thick and sweet cinnamon sauce, this pie was baked with a thin crust and fished off with crumbles. Served a la mode with a hefty scoop of vanilla ice cream and dusting of cinnamon, I loved that this wasn't too sweet and too wet!

Brownie Loco
Brownie Loco for 120Php

Another sinful dessert, this one was gooey and rich in chocolaty goodness! Half-baked brownie that was served right out of the oven, topped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce, this was a crowd favorite!

Their iced tea is worth a mention too. Not your usual commercial iced tea, they brew their own Ceylon Tea and blend it with lemon to give you a refreshingly good drink! For 70Php, not bad at all.

Overall, I liked our lunch here! Lucky's Burger and Bar is definitely one of the most affordable places in Tuscany Estates without sacrificing food quality. They also have good portions for their price range.

P.S. They offer Buy1Take1 on their cocktails, anytime and any day! Just look for Billy and ask him about this promo and he will surely oblige!

4 out of 5 Stars for Lucky's Burger & Bar!
