Before yogurt shops came sprouting everywhere like mushrooms, BTIC (Better Than Ice Cream) has been in the market selling yogurt based ice cream for quite sometime. They substituted cream with yogurt and added the same flavors that we find in regular ice creams. Ever since I was in high school, I have had the heart for yogurt, much more for BTIC. In 2009, yogurt gained it's popularity since some genius thought of making frozen yogurt - which looks more like sundae. They made sure to reduce the sour nature of yogurt and made it into something that resembles sundae adding toppings for the sweet tooth. It was an instant hit! It's more expensive than your usual sundae but nevertheless, it made it's way through the market.

In Bonifacio High Street, you'll find a yogurt store that was one of the firsts in the Philippines - Yoh Gurt Froz. Seldom does it have a store of its own. Most times, it houses itself in toy stores that allow kids to sample the items for sale like in Hobbes and Landes. It's actually a good concept because as long as there are kids and kids at heart that would go inside the store, they would have customers. Who wouldn't go for a guiltless pleasure while choosing a toy or while waiting for your child to make up his mind on what toy to grab.
