Butterbeer, anyone?

If you are an avid fan of the Harry Potter series, I'm so sure that you know what I'm talking about. Ever since I read about this drink, I could only imagine how it would taste like. See, I'm not a fan of beer. I don't like the bitter taste but a Butterbeer sounds like fun to me. I can imagine that it's sweet, with hints of caramel and of course, it must be buttery!

Who among you grew up with the story of Harry Potter? I did! Literally! I was in 3rd year high school when the book series became popular and when the first movie came about. The last book came out when I was already starting my career in the corporate world and the last movie installment of book 7 came out when I already had Cherienne. It was such a journey to wait for each book to be published and each movie to be shown. When I heard that a food hack is available for Butterbeer, I was as giddy as a child to try it out.

And the hacker? Starbucks! It's not a part of their regular menu but because of it's popularity, Baristas are already well acquainted with this not so secret recipe. I saw the blog post for this via looloo (click here for the blog post) on the 7th of October and since then, my IG and looloo feeds have been flooded with it.

If in case a Barista doesn't know how to make one, or you're just too curious to know the recipe, check it out below. Note: Starbucks' version is alcohol free :)

- Order a Regular Creme Frappuccino
- Add 3 pumps of Caramel Syrup
- Add 3 pumps of Toffee Nut Syrup
- Ask for Caramel Drizzle on top
Barista details on the cup

Total cost : 185php for Grande

The verdict: It was just OKAY for me. It was sweet, tasted like my trusty Caramel Creme Frappe but had hints of the festive Toffee Nut. Guess I was just looking for a more buttery flavor. I was expecting more of a Butter Ball candy like taste. But then again, that's just me. I never had the chance to try the original drink from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando and so I really don't have a point for comparison. But in any case, it somehow lives up to my dream of having to drink some Butterbeer!

  1. This. This is exactly why I decided to start blogging. It can be very isolating being home with babies, even if you get out and do stuff each day. It is so nice to read about another woman going through it too!
