The Ramen Craze: Ramen Nagi

Written By clapalisoc on Friday, 7 August 2015 | 17:05

Finally got the chance to try this much talked about Ramen House in SM Aura. A lot of raves about their Ramen bowls but also rants about the queue. We braved the Food Hall of Aura on a Saturday and expected to wait for our turn to try Ramen Nagi. Gawd the wait list! Number 20! Whiw! Good thing most of the customers left even before their turn so that made the wait shorter.

We needed to wait a little longer since I didn't want to eat al fresco. It was hot and I preferred their air conditioned area.

When we got the menu and the sheet to customize some stuff, we decided to stick with what the chef recommended to make sure that we won't over or under do our bowls. We just opted to make both bowls not spicy.

We got the Butao King and Green King and an order of Gyoza.

Original King (Butao) for 390Php

Butao king is the best tonkotsu Ramen I've had yet! The soup was so rich with flavors, you can even smell the pork goodness when served. The noodles were thin but done nicely, the serving of pork had the right trimming of fat and overall, it wasn't too oily. Best Ramen until I got a taste of the Green King!

Green King (Midorio) for 410Php

Oh golly, if there is best of the best this should be it!!! Well, at least for basil pesto lovers like me and hubby. The basil smell was so strong and each sip of the soup took me to ramen heaven! That good! The strong kick of basil, the milky soup and the cheese added into it....Gosh! I could have inhaled this in minutes if  it was not meant to be shared. It had the same quality of noodle and meat as the Butao King.

Gyoza for 190Php

The Gyoza was good too. I didn't really get to meddle with it too much since I was busy with my bowl. But I liked that it tasted fresh and not the frozen then steamed. The dip was spicy but was good.

Ramen Nagi could have been my NUMBER ONE ramen place but since it's the most expensive that we've tried so far, I would still go for Yushoken.

5 out of 5 Stars for Ramen Nagi!
