Le Miel Cafè Et Pâtisserie - The Best Caramel Cheesecake in Town!

Written By clapalisoc on Tuesday, 3 May 2016 | 11:54

We found ourselves in Greenfield District one Saturday night because of a friend's recommendation. He has been raving about this Caramel Cheesecake that he tried and he wanted us to sample it and see if he was right. He took us to Le Miel Cafè Et Pâtisserie.

Le Miel Cafè was just in front of Greenfield District's weekend market. It was a small cafe offering mostly pastries and cakes, coffee, some finger food, sandwiches, some pasta dishes and bingsu. When the day gets old and dark, they also offer some beer and other bottled alcoholic beverages.

Caramel Cheesecake was the first order of business. We got a slice to sample and we were blown away! It was so good! The base was made up of crushed cookies, that their chef baked herself. The cheesecake was smooth and velvety and the caramel topping was delicious! It was sweet but not over the top as you would imagine.

Look at that luscious caramel topping!

What's different with this cheesecake was the infusion of the cheesecake itself with caramel. The usual would give you a plain cheesecake with varying toppings but the chef, which happened to be the lady owner, decided to go next level. It was so good that I bought one slice to go as well.

Le Miel Cafè Et Pâtisserie Bingsu
Very Berry Bingsu - XL for 270Php

We also ordered their Bingsu. I got the largest size which was definitely for sharing! They used a glass measuring cup as the container which was a unique way to present Bingsu. Only issue was the ice melted fast. Some Bingsu place use the aluminum container which was said to keep the ice from melting sooner.

Glorious toppings! The berries though didn't taste fresh - maybe they were the preserved type.

Very Berry was the flavor that we chose. It was good but I have an issue with the shaved ice. Since I've tried other Bingsu places with ultra fine shaved ice, what they used here was ordinary. Just like the shaved ice in the usual halo-halo. But what's good was the generous serving of berries - strawberries, blueberries and blackberries! What I liked about it though was the layering. You'll get a layer of shaved ice x milk x cornflakes x berries x strawberry ice cream then another layer of shaved ice with milk topped with more cornflakes, berries and a hefty scoop of strawberry ice cream. So, you won't end up with just shaved ice and milk! There's always a topping in every spoonful.

Le Miel Cafe is a family owned business and the husband and wife tandem were very hands on. John Chua shared with us that his wife, a Korean, bakes all the cakes and pastries that they sell. He was very easy to talk to. He shared lots of stories and details about their cafe, their coffee and their cakes! I also liked how they trained their staff. They were friendly and very proactive, always smiling when talking to customers.
