Crazy Katsu - Affordable Japanese Meals

Written By clapalisoc on Friday, 16 September 2016 | 11:32

Crazy Katsu has been teasing me each time I pass by it's area in Aguirre Ave. Since I'm not so much of a fan of Katsu, I was able to brush it off each time even with the urging of the husband. But the inevitable day came - husband parked the car in front of Crazy Katsu without asking me if I wanted to eat there.

Lunch at Crazy Katsu!

So it happened. Crazy Katsu for lunch. Their space was small but with ample space to move about. Their menu was simple - four Katsu meals, six special dishes, salad, soup, dessert and beverages.

We tried the folowing---

Katsudon from Crazy Katsu
Katsudon for 155Php

The Katsudon was good but could have been better if they added more sauce. But I have to admit that the meat was soft and juicy, with a little crisp coming from the breading. Serving was no YABU size but you have to be forgiving coz they're very affordable! Most expensive dish at 190Php and the Katsudon was just for 155Php #tipidhits indeed!

Katsu Curry from Crazy Katsu

The Curry Rice was great too. Generous serving of Japanese curry with some veggies, soft and warm Japanese rice and three strips of tender Pork Katsu.

Fish and Vegetable Tempura from Crazy Katsu

Then we also got their Fish and Vegetable Tempura set for my daughter. Crunchy and tasty, best when dipped into their tempura sauce.

Pudding from Crazy Katsu

For dessert, we tried their Coffee Pudding. This was just okay. Leche Flan was not so creamy and milky, flavored with coffee. Nothing special.

Honestly, there was nothing exceptional with the food that they serve. It's their pricing though that helps them get traction. With dishes priced at around 150-190Php, decent serving portions and average to good in terms of taste, it's one of those sulit budget places that you can go to. It's also important to note that customer service is great here! Well trained staff, always serving with a smile.

Definitely coming back to try their other dishes!
