When we had our "rendezvoos" in Mango Tree, I learned that they also own Coca, Cocina Peruvia and Slappy Cakes. I love my Mango Tree experience so I was looking forward to try Coca. Coca is likewise a franchise from Bangkok, thus, they offer Thai cuisine. It's a bit different compared to Mango Tree though coz it offers hotpot or shabu-shabu.

COCA in SM Aura! |
Honestly, I have been waiting for a chance to try Coca since I scored a 500Php worth of GC for Coca from looloo. Dinner with the daughter after watching a movie in SM Aura was the perfect chance!

A look inside Coca in SM Aura! |
When we got to Coca, we were greeted warmly by their staff. I was surprised to see that their space was so huge!!!! Lots of tables very spacious and very elegant place!
|
More details of what's inside this restaurant |
Warmly lit, tables with installation for shabu-shabu and very nice interiors. The ambiance was more casual than Mango Tree but the place had the same privy elegance.
We checked their menu and got the following---
|
Steamed Kurobuta in Soy Sauce and Ginger for 650Php |
The little girl wanted some tender pork with a little sauce so I got this for her. Thin strips of flavorful pork, bacon cut, in a light soy and ginger sauce. Each strip was tender! We loved this! Nothing too strong, just the right ginger kick!
|
Prawns with Salted Egg for 680Php |
Salted egg anything has become a food trend so I wanted to find out how Coca played this out. Honestly, the salted egg smothered into the prawns was good! I liked it! BUT this could have been knock out if they took out the shells of the prawns already!
|
A closer look at these lovely prawns! |
It was just so hard to appreciate the two together with the shells on. I had to remove the salted egg from the prawns, peel the shell and marry them back. Good thing the prawns were juicy and succulent.
|
Mango Sticky Rice for 250Php |
For dessert, I opted to get their Mango Sticky Rice. I was thinking that it'll be the same as Mango Tree (they used brown rice there) but it wasn't. They used the regular white rice but nonetheless it was good. Warm sticky rice, thick and sweet coconut milk sauce and fresh mangoes!
|
Thai Iced Tea for 90Php |
Also tried their Thai Iced Tea and it was good! Same taste as Mango Tree's!
Overall, it was a pleasant visit. Servers were friendly and explained the dishes to me. They were also attentive and alert, making sure that all our dining needs were attended to right away.
4 out of 5 Stars for Coca Restaurant!
