Have you ever seen a place that sells nothing but Churros? I know some restaurants that include Churros in their menu but I haven't seen one that really focuses on the dessert alone. Until Churreria La Lola.
La Lola is a brain child of the group behind the restaurants Rambla, Las Flores and Barcino which are also in my list of "must-try" places. It's located in the lower ground floor of Power Plant Mall. The store was so small with just enough room for the staff to move around - knead the dough, fry the Churros, prep them up for serving, chocolate dip area, cashier and a tiny space for coffee, water, paper cups and tissue. No room to sit down or walk around. But then again it's being crowded by customers lining up. Good thing that the way the staff were trained and their game plan was well thought of so they're very efficient. You really don't have to wait too long to get your orders done.

Another thing that amazed me was their deep fryer. You see, they have this machine that has a wheel that spins and spits out perfectly shaped Churros into the very hot, boiling oil. At first I wondered why the oil was black then I found out that they use olive oil. Less guilt, don't you think?

I got 6 pieces of Classic Churros plus medium chocolate dip. I haven't tried a lot of churros - only that of Dulcinea and Tus, and I must say that these from La Lola are so worth the line! Warm and crunchy with a soft and chewy center, they're so good! The Belgian chocolate dip was good too though it was a little sweet. It had the right consistency - not too watery or runny and it wasn't too thick as well.

The Churros were placed in a triangular cone that has a side holder for the chocolate dip cup. Really easy way to carry your Churros and dip around.
Other than just the classic plain Churros with dip, they also have Churros dipped in dark chocolate, Mini Chocolate Churros served with ice cream and caramel sauce, stuffed Churros (Nutella, Dulce de Leche, Starwberry Jam or Peanut Butter), sandwiches and homemade potato chips. They also serve Illy Coffee and some other refreshments like iced tea and juices.
