Went on a Poblacion Pub Crawl on a hot summer day and I totally enjoyed it! Poblacion is my current fave foodie destination because of it's hidden resto gems. There's always an element of surprise! Lots of new (and old) restaurants to discover!
Some of Locally PH's juice flavors! Made from all natural ingredients that are locally sourced! |
Since it was a PUB CRAWL, I expected to drown with cocktails! Zomato partnered with Locally All Natural Juice Drinks, from Nutri Asia, to create amazing cocktails that are so summer ready!
We started our sponsored crawl at Wicked Dogs! Wicked Dogs x Zomato x Locally x foodfanaticph = 4 times the fun!!
Now, if you are from the South of the Metro, you might have heard about Wicked Dogs already. It's first branch is in BF Homes. It's Poblacion branch just opened about a month ago. Housed at the 2/F of Lokal Hostel, the place was very relaxed - open air, unfinished walls, very casual. You have to take note though that it can get really hot here because the area allows a lot of natural light and has no AC.
Locally PH x Wicked Dogs! |
Non-Alcoholic: juices, soda, fruits, flavorings - all things nice without the alcohol kick! I must say that I liked each one! Best when consumed super cold!
Virgin Mojito |
This Mojito was my favorite! Guyabano juice mixed with lemon and lime, with some mint leaves! It was refreshing!
Snow Blend |
This was an interesting drink too using Tamarind but it was a little on the sweet side.
Summer Punch |
I liked this one too! Can you believe that Locally came up with Kamias as their juice flavor? Totally worked! This was without the sour taste anymore, kinda reminded me of candied Kamias!
Alcoholic: I didn't get to taste all of these but let me still drill down ---
Step on It |
They used Locally's Calamansi Juice here and a mix of booze.
Joy Ride |
Tamarind Juice was mixed with Vodka and served in a salt rimmed glass. I loved it! The sweet Tamarind Juice made a great contrast with the salt!
Slippery When Wet |
This was my favorite! The ultimate summer cocktail with Kamias as the juice, a bit of a kick from the alcohol and what I really loved about it was the generous serving of lime and orange slices!
Wicked Dogs!!!!! |
Onto the food, we tried three different hotdog sandwiches which were all loaded!
Tijuana Bacon Dog for 250Php |
Just look at that! Frankfurter that's wrapped in bacon, deep fried and loaded into a soft French bread bun. It's generously topped with cheese sauce, chili con carne and a fried egg!! Insane! The Frankfurter had a lovely bite, juicy and meaty - delicious! Every component went well together. You will not regret ordering this, swear!
The No. 5 Dog for 260Php |
This was quite a crowd favorite and I know why. It's unique and tasty and had Schueblig for the sausage! The sausage itself was awesome but they didn't stop there of course!
Closer look at Hotdos No. 5! |
Topped with red cabbage, fried wanton, leeks and chili Hoisin sauce - the crunch and the flavors added up to the experience.
Wasabi Dog for 250Php |
This was my least fave, though it was good. Wiener topped with wasabi mayo, Katsu sauce, Katsuobushi (bonito flakes) and strips of seaweed chips.
Japanese style hotdog sandwich with fries on the side! |
There was too much of the Katsu sauce that made it a little cloying for me.
Chicken Tenders |
We also tried their Chicken Tenders and they were too spicy for my liking!
Overall, Wicked Dogs is one great place for unwinding. Their hot dog sandwiches are loaded and best paired with ice cold beer or cocktails. Worth every penny!
4 out of 5 Stars for Wicked Dogs!
