K-Drama are back and got everyone, mostly the ladies, hooked! Do you remember when they first invaded Philippine TV scenes? Korean restaurants became popular and a lot of entrepreneurs capitalized on this. Today, the K-Drama fever is hotter than ever! Clothes, make-up, skin care products and most specially food - everyone's going for the Korean version!

One Korean restaurant that has been gaining popularity is Soban K-Town Grill. From Eastwood to Greenbelt and now in Alabang - peak hours can get crazy packed!

Can't decide what to order? Try them all!

Went on a K-Drama inspired lunch on a weekday through a sponsored invite - Soban K-Town Grill x Zomato x foodfanaticph - and went home with a super happy tummy!

Soban K-Town Grill recently opened in ATC Corporate Center - the same building that houses La Maripili and Senor Pollo. The place can get cramped during peak hours and I really wish they had a bigger space. Offering Korean BBQ sets, Korean pancakes, Gimbap, noodles, Bibimbap, Korean soups and stews, rice bowls, Korean snacks as well as cocktails and Soju - you'll find a lot in the menu whether you're dining alone or with a big group!

Soban K-Town Grill
Premium USDA Beef!

We tried their Premium BBQ Combo Set (2200Php), which is a group set that's good for 3-4 people, that has the following: 180g USDA Choice Premium Marinated Beef, 180g Pork Belly, 180g Boneless Fried Chicken, 1 Japchae, 1 Pajeon, 1 Egg Casserole, Half Gimbap and 4 servings of unlimited Kimchi Fried Rice, soup and side dishes.

And... more grilling!

Samgyupsal from Soban K-Town Grill
And more!

Just like in any other Korean BBQ restaurants, their tables are equipped with grills and over head vents to take out the smoke right away.

Samgyupsal from Soban K-Town Grill
Samgyupsal essentials!

I love Samgyupsal and the manner of eating it so I wasn't surprised that I loved this set! Though I wasn't able to try the chicken, I enjoyed the tender and well seasoned beef and pork.

Kimchi Rice from Soban K-Town Grill
Kimchi Rice that's not over the top spicy!

Pair the meat with the Kimchi Rice or wrap it up with as mush sides as you like into the fresh and crisp lettuce - either way is delicious!

Samgyupsal Essentials from Soban K-Town Grill
Unlimited side dishes!

They have the usual Samgyupsal side dishes - Kimchi, simple salad, an assortment of thinly sliced veggies in a spicy sauce, fried egg with veggies, red salty paste and the sesame oil with black pepper.

Korean Pancake from Soban K-Town Grill
Pajeon!

The Korean Pancake, Pajeon, was good too! Scrambled egg mixed with an assortment of veggies, squid, mussels and shrimps - dunk each piece into the sauce and enjoy!

Japchae from Soban K-Town Grill
Delicious Japchae!

I love Japchae and my favorite is that from Bulgogi Brothers. This Japchae from Soban is simple but delicious! It has the hint of sweetness that I like.

Didn't get to try the Gimbap and the Egg Casserole though but it looked like the others liked them since they were instantly wiped out!

Kimchi Fries from Soban K-Town Grill
Kimchi Fries for 199Php

We also tried their Kimchi Fries. It was like the Korean version of Poutine, substituting gravy with Kimchi. With roasted pork bits and lots of cheese, this was surprisingly good!

Coffee Prince from Soban K-Town Grill
Coffee Prince for 120Php

For dessert, we tried Coffee Prince. Beautifully plated, a hefty scoop of homemade ice cream sat on top of soft graham sandwiching Korean red beans. It was then finished off with chocolate on top. This was just okay for me. The ice cream was good - coffee flavor was well balanced by the cream - but aside from the plating, nothing special here.

Soban Ice Tea from Soban K-Town Grill
Soban Ice Tea for 65Php (solo) | 110Php (bottomless)

For drinks, I tried their Soban Iced tea that can be availed solo or bottomless. It was one refreshing drink!

Galaxy Slushie from Soban K-Town Grill
Galaxy Slushie for 120Php (glass) | 400Php (carafe)

I also tried a slushie - Galaxy. You can get this by the glass or in a carafe. It was one pretty cocktail and definitely looked like a painting of the galaxy!

Galaxy Slushie from Soban K-Town Grill
A look from the top!

Loved the glittery layers of dark and light blue colors and the burst of bubble gum flavor! There was a hint of lemon too that made it all the more refreshing!

Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. Love their food! Plus I love the fact that they provide unlimited side dishes - as well as lettuce coz my family can eat a ton of this veggie! Most Korean restaurants will charge you for extra lettuce!

I am excited to bring my Korean food loving family here!
