Magnum Opus has been in my "must visit" list for quite sometime now. I've been reading a lot of good reviews about the place and their coffee. After a hearty meal in Mama Lou's, there was no way I'm passing a good cup of coffee for a night cap.

Magnum Opus is not hard to find. Big signage that's well lit and it's standing tall and proud on the 2nd floor of Prime Bldg., along Aguirre Ave. in BF Homes. The place was small and tends to get cramped when full but it has an alfresco area just in case you prefer some breeze. When we got inside the store, the pleasant aroma of coffee greeted us. Their menu wasn't extensive but that wasn't a problem.

I got the Chilled Belgian Heartbreaker. I was a little disappointed with the serving size considering the price but once I took a sip, OH MY! It was so worth it! This is their version of Mocha - espresso x freshly-melted Belgian chocolate x steamed milk. Really good stuff. Rich chocolate flavor, strong coffee taste, just the right sweetness - it was a new Mocha experience for me!

Then the Wafflegato. A serving of Vanilla ice cream x double espresso shot (I had mine with just one shot), served with a thin and crispy waffle. Affogato at it's finest! Imagine an array of flavors in a spoonful - sweetness from the ice cream with this sour-bitterness from the espresso shot. Strong coffee flavor x the delicate touch of vanilla.

Servers were very accommodating. They willingly explain the magic they're doing with your order. They don't hesitate answering questions and they give helpful suggestions to first timers. I'm guessing those that we encountered that day were the owners. I must commend their passion and hands on approach in managing their business.
This place is definitely on top of my third wave coffee go to!
