Lia's Cakes in Season is famous for their Avocado flavored sweets. Avocado cake, cheesecake, Sans Rival and cupcake - they have them all! Being a fan of anything avocado, most especially avocado home made ice cream, it was one of those places pegged on top of my "must visit list".
My first encounter with this cake shop was way back in 2013 with no follow-up thereafter. A little odd for an avocado fanatic like me, yes? But during that visit, I tried their avocado cupcake and found nothing special about it. In fact, I found the frosting too buttery, lacking the sweet luscious avocado flavor I was expecting (review details HERE).

Three layers of green colored chiffon that were so light and soft, layered with avocado cream, frosted with more avocado cream and finished off with crushed pistachios.

The chiffon didn't have a hint of avocado but the cream had it all! It had just the right avocado flavor, not too sweet, not too cloying. It was like eating freshly mashed avocado with whipped cream and a little condensed milk! So yummy!

We also tried their Ube Cheesecake. Oh my! This was like eating "Ube Halaya" that was turned into cheesecake! It was thick and smooth, rich and sweet. A little heavy on the palate, this can get cloying so it's best shared. They used Ube Polvoron as the base of the cheesecake which added more sweetness. They also topped the cheesecake with more Ube Polvoron. Guess a different cheesecake base will lessen the cloying factor?
