Mad Mark's made waves in the foodie scene because of it's small batch artisan ice cream offerings. Half-Baked Madgascar and Javan Hot Chocolate were two of their best sellers (and my favorites too!). It wasn't surprising when they started to branch out in all parts of the Metro. Their BGC Branch is the nearest branch from home and I would always sneak in a minute to grab a scoop or two of their available flavors.
Mad Mark's Creamery and Good Eats, Kapitolyo |
Aside from ice cream, they also offer hot items that will satisfy your hunger. Appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, steak, burgers and more!
Some of the details inside Mad Mark's in Kapitolyo |
Glad I had the chance to revisit their food during this crawl! Second stop of our Kapitolyo Food Crawl - Mad Mark's x Zomato x foodfanaticph!
We got a good sampling of what they offer ---
Man Sandwiches: Firehouse, Mariner & The Man Sandwich
Firehouse Sandwich for 125Php (half) | 190Php (full) |
Toasted sourdough filled with deep fried and battered chicken in a spicy sauce, topped with lettuce and strips of veggies. This was way too spicy for me! I tried it and there was a sour note from the chicken pieces. Good if you like spicy stuff.
Mariner for 145Php (half) | 220Php (full) |
Breaded fish fillet in a toasted sourdough, tartar sauce and a medley of veggies - this was light and good with just the right amount of dressing.
The Man Sandwich for 170Php (half) | 275Php (full) |
The ultimate sandwich! This one's loaded! Overflowing with Cheese Steak x chicken x shiitake, just half will make you full right away!
Main Entree: Spunky Holanta Fried Chicken
Spunky Holanta Fried Chicken for 225Php |
A generous serving of of chicken fingers covered in a spicy sauce that had hints of sourness, this one was served with rice and mixed greens.
Grill Works: Ribs, Chicken and Steak
Johnnie Double Black Ribs for 275Php |
Their signature ribs in JDB sauce, slow cooked for 20hrs before hitting the grill! The result? Tasty and tender ribs, a hint of sweetness, strong BBQ flavor and a good smoked taste.
Creole Grilled Chicken for 205Php |
A generous portion of chicken that has been well marinated with their blend of Louisiana herbs and spices, served with generous grill marks, rice, mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. I liked that the chicken was juicy plus the meat absorbed the herbs and spices well.
Signature Steak for 275Php |
One hundred fifty grams of USDA Flat Iron Steak, cooked medium, served with a simple side salad, mashed potatoes and a side serving of steak sauce - this is one bang for your buck meal! The steak was tender with nice grill marks, juicy and tasty!
Absolute Mocha Java Milkshake for P170 | Caramel Round White Milkshake for P160 |
We also got to sample the newest addition to their menu - MILKSHAKES!!! They only use their own ice cream assuring fresh batch each day. We tried the Absolute Mocha Java and Caramel Round White Milkshakes.
Milkshakes!!! |
I loved both! Thick and creamy, the Mocha Java had a good coffee flavor while the Caramel was sweet with hints of burn sugar, Perfect summer drinks!
Matchawaited |
They also had us try their ice cream. I went for their Matchawaited flavor which is obviously Matcha. It had a n ice creamy and milky taste, more like a Matcha Latte. Nothing too bitter. Loved the specs of chocolate mixed in!
Ice cream party!!!! |
Then their all time best sellers - Half-Baked Madagascar, Javan Hot Chocolate and Sumatra Arabica.
Overall, it was a satisfying visit. Glad to have discovered more of their dishes plus their milkshakes! I also liked that they have expanded their Kapitolyo branch, a sign of good business, to provide more space for customers!
