Revisiting Pho Hoa

Written By clapalisoc on Friday 9 October 2015 | 10:52

I've already lost count of the times that we have enjoyed lunch or dinner in Pho Hoa. I have blogged about it HERE couple of years ago.

Since Sunday was such a rainy day but still the need to go out to buy some stuff, we ended up eating Pho for dinner. Even before the dawn of Ramen houses, Pho has been our favorite. Pho Hoa in particular.

We always go for our favorites here -

Pho Nam Chin Gan Bo Vien - Soup #50 for 305Php (L)

Noodle Soup : Pho Nam Chin Gan Bo Vien or simply soup number 50. It's the best among their bowls. It has tasty beef stock soup, glass noodles, a whole lot of thin beef brisket, flank, tendon and the tastiest meatballs in the world! Add in some fresh Thai Basil, bean sprouts and some freshly squeezed lemon juice. Beats all the bad vibes!

Goi Cuon for 145Php

Spring Rolls: Goi Cuon is their fresh spring roll that you can have as a vegetarian delight or opt for the one with shrimp and pork. Wrapped in thin rice paper with glass noodles, fresh veggies, pork and shrimp, it's healthy and refreshing. Don't forget to dunk each roll into the peanut sauce!

Com Ga Nuom Cha Gio for 295Php

Rice Plate: Grilled Chicken with fried spring rolls and fried rice. Tender chicken strips that were well marinated. You can also opt for pork if you want. This is hubby's fave. By the way, the fried spring rolls that go with this plate are knock out good too. Perfectly fried, crunchy and golden brown with a very tasty filling of some veggies, pork and Vermicelli. Best when dipped into their sweet vinegar side.

Buko Pandan Salad for 95Php

During this visit, we had to get another dessert coz our usual Mango Crepe a la Mode was not available. Cherienne chose Buko Pandan. Believe me, this was the WEIRDEST Buko Pandan I have ever had in my life! Why? It has corn kernels in it! The flavor of the corn knocked out the flavor of the Pandan and Coconut. Not a good idea.

Pho Hoa Iced Tea for 105Php

We also got a glass of their Vietnamese Iced Tea and for 105Php, it wasn't worth it. Too much ice plus it tasted like your regular powdered iced tea. Meh..

Overall, our dinner was pleasant. The staff were helpful and attentive though this particular branch was a little cramped especially when it gets packed.

4 out of 5 Stars for Pho Hoa!
