Cibo recently celebrated their 18 glorious years in the food industry with a thank you promo for everyone. They called it "18 Pairs for 18 Years" with a special menu of 18 pairs of pre-selected dishes. All you have to do is to choose a pair were one dish is sold for it's regular price and it's pair is marked at 18Php ONLY. Such a great deal, isn't it? If you're a Cibo fan, I'm sure you didn't miss this. I bet you took advantage of this more than once. If you haven't really tried Cibo before, I'm sure this promo made you experience Cibo goodness for the first time.
Honestly, not a Cibo fan since I had a bad first experience with them when I tried their Pasta Negra. But ever since we had lunch here and sampled a couple of dishes from their promo, I became a fan.
Spaghettini Al Tris Formaggio which was paired with Bruschetta, Prosciutto Di Parma changed my mind about Cibo forever! It was such a great pair. Let me tell you why.
Spaghettini Al Tris Di Formaggio, Salsa Tartufa for 350Php |
The pasta was so good! It was rich and creamy. You can definitely taste the butter, the cheese and the truffle. Add in some mushroom paste and parmesan shavings - ah it was perfect! It had the right truffle kick that I wanted!
Bruschetta Prosciutto di Parma for 18Php from the Promo, 250Php Regular Price |
Then the Bruschetta. It was AH-MA-ZING! Imagine a rustic, crusty, grilled slice of bread topped with stewed tomatoes, lots of mozzarella, lots of Parma Ham and Prosciutto. Drizzle generously with some garlic olive oil and enjoy! I can have this everyday! Since the pasta didn't have meat in it, the generous serving of meat in this Bruschetta made up for it. Brilliant!
Tagliata Di Manzo for 470Php |
Husband went for the Tagliata De Manzo, Funghi Trifolati, Rucola (gracious!) paired with Linguine Del Marinaio. This was the best pair of them all! Good for sharing - a rice meal + pasta!
Linguine Del Marinaio for 18Php from the Promo - 255Php Regular Price |
Didn't bother trying the beef dish but got my hand on the pasta. Oil based with stewed tomatoes, tuna, olives and capers. It was simple but delicious! I'm really starting to love their stewed tomato base!
Penne Al Telefono for 355Php |
Then my obsession with Cibo begun. Day after, we headed to Cibo again for lunch. This time, I got their all time best seller Penne Al Telefono. It had stewed tomatoes (Cibo does this so well), mozzarella, white cheese, cream and basil. The tomatoes went so well with the cream creating a luscious sauce that was creamy and thick and insanely good! Though the pasta was quite hard when this was served, I just told them about it and they changed the entire thing right away. I was even able to request for a little more sauce.
Linguine Alla Ghiotta for 340Php |
Then we also got their Linguine Alla Ghiotta which had mushroom, bacon slab chunks and cream. Equally good! Thick and creamy sauce, chunks of bacon. We enjoyed this too.
Parmigiano Pizza for 345Php |
Since we wanted some pizza, we got the Parmigiano Pizza which had a tomato base with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese shavings. The crust was really thin but was kinda tough. This was okay.
Bruschetta Pomodoro Classico for 205Php |
Then another order of Prosciutto Di Parma Bruschetta for me and Pomodoro Classico Bruschetta for Cherienne who loves tomatoes. This one is a vegetarian delight. It had nothing but fresh and juicy tomatoes, EVOO, basil and Parmesan Cheese shavings. My daughter loved it!
Oh Cibo! You had our tummies so full! Service was great too. I never had my glass of water empty for too long. I did not even need to call their attention for a refill. Then our endless request for some more tissue, new utensils since the first ones fell and even new paper place mats. They were even so kind to give Cherienne some more paper place mats with drawings for her to color at home.
One happy family with happy tummies indeed!
4 out of 5 Stars for CIBO!
