Kumori - Cheese Tart Heaven!

Written By clapalisoc on Monday, 11 July 2016 | 13:32

I've had this intense cheese tart discussion with my foodie friends and they kept on mentioning this cheese tart bakery from Japan that's slowly taking over Asia. Now, I have no way to sample these goodies until we fly to HK for a family trip, so finding a good alternative to satisfy the craving got me.

Good thing Kumori Philippines launched their Cheese Tarts - the first ever in the Philippines! These little bites have been making a loud buzz in the foodie scene since early June. I didn't waste any second and rushed to the nearest Kumori Branch from home!

Off to SM Makati, I went straight to the lower ground floor where Kumori is located. I badly wanted to sample their cheese tarts! At 60Php per piece, these little babies are expensive! They're pretty small and can be stuffed into your mouth at once or if you're like me, gone in at least two bites!

Closer look at the cheesy goodness of each tart!

Boxed warm, you can right away smell their freshly baked goodness. As you take a bite, a crumbly and buttery crust will greet you. Then a soft and warm and gooey cheese filling will burst into your mouth! Cream cheese was evident making each tart creamy and rich, but not overwhelming. Pretty good I must say!

My only problem with these cheese tarts was their crust. It was too crumbly! When you take a bite, the entire crust collapses making it so messy to eat. Tried putting the tarts in the ref which made the crust hold everything better but I think the cheese filling is best when warm.

Gah, they're good and it's so easy to finish an entire box!

4 out of 5 Stars for Kumori's Cheese Tart!
