FINALLY had the chance to visit Yardstick! Last week's Wednesday holiday led hubby and I to Your Local since there was no traffic and parking was easy. Coffee after dinner is always a good idea and I didn't get some dessert from Your Local because I was thinking of getting Salted Caramel Waffle from Yardstick.
Located beside Your Local, these two establishments share a backdoor where customers can pass through without having to go out into the street. The place was huge, brightly lit and very spacious!
The menu board was so big and they didn't really have a formal counter. I liked the unorganized idea and the minimal interiors plus the unfinished look of the entire area.
Brightly lit space, displays are mostly about coffee where in some are for sale.
They have this area with display of anything related to coffee brewing. They also sell coffee beans and even have Theo & Philo Chocolates!
I got a small cup of Mocha and my waffle of choice but unfortunately they didn't have any waffles that time. WHY?!?
I watched the barista make my cup of joe. He was a little chatty which was good coz I had the chance to ask him stuff. Single origin beans sourced from Ethiopia, roasted light to medium, I caught a citrusy and fragrant smell of the coffee shot before he did his Mocha magic. Chocolate was sourced from South Africa and he said that they use "red chocolate" only.

My warm cup of Mocha on a gloomy Wednesday night was just perfect. Loved that the dark chocolate went well with the bitter coffee. The chocolate had some sweetness but not too much. Good proportion of milk. Wished I got a larger cup coz the husband liked it too when he took a sip!
Will definitely be back to try their flat white and hunt them waffles!!!!
5 out of 5 Stars for Yardstick Coffee!
