Melt Grilled Cheesery - Awaken the Cheese Lover in You!

Uptown Place Mall in BGC is starting to become a foodie heaven. I recently discovered yet another restaurant that's worth a visit - Melt Grilled Cheesery. After a not so good experience in Salvatore Cuomo, my foodie friends and I decided to go to Melt.

Melt Grilled Cheesery has an open kitchen, simple interiors and an overall modern-cozy feel. They offer pasta dishes, some appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, desserts and the star of the place - GRILLED CHEESE sandwich. They have a total of ten grilled cheese sandwiches in their menu, both sweet and savory.

We decided to try the following --

Mushroom Truffle Pasta with Parma Ham
Mushroom Truffle Pasta with Parma Ham for 460Php (395Php w/o Parma Ham)

I am a big fan of truffle anything so it was automatic for me to order this. The pasta was al dente, the truffle cream sauce was rich and had just the right kick of that addictive truffle oil taste. Adding Parma Ham makes it more expensive but tell me, how can you resist Prosciutto and it's salty savory goodness? Loved this pasta!

Monte Cristo Grilled Cheese Sandwich for 390/ add hashbrown for 40Php

I would love to love this sandwich because of all the right ingredients that it has - a medley of cheeses which was Melt's house blend, Parma ham, scrambled eggs, sourdough french toast - but then again something was missing. I loved that the cheese was gooey and the french toast had a good form but there wasn't enough Parma ham so it wasn't as savory as I would have wanted it to be. I wished they used some other kind of ham for a hefty meat serving instead of the expensive Parma ham. The sandwich came in with a side serving of maple syrup which was a little too sour than sweet. Maybe honey would be a better option.

Dulce De Leche Cheesecake
Dulce De Leche Cheesecake for 235Php per slice, 1400Php for the whole cake

This slice of cheesecake was a piece of heaven! The crust was made of biscuits, resembling our childhood favorite Marie, instead of the usual graham. The cheesecake was soft towards the center because it has a lot of dulce de leche in it making it sinfully sweet, which was fine by me. You'll get a good sample of the cheesecake itself without too much dulce de leche when you scoop some towards the side. Rich, creamy and really good, something worth coming back for!

Our visit was overall good. I just hope that they'll do something about the flies in their restaurant. I know it's a common problem among Uptown Place Mall restaurants but then again, flies kill the ambiance.

4 out of 5 Stars for Melt Grilled Cheesery!
