More than Just Coffee - Toby's Estate SM Aura

Toby's Estate has the best Café Mocha in town. It’s rich and bold and has that dark chocolate bitterness in it that I just love. Passed by Toby's Estate in SM Aura, a stall in the middle of the mall, when we were on our way to Power Mac. I decided to wait for hubby there instead of tagging along.

The place was packed when we got there but there was one table that was unoccupied. I wanted to get a Mocha but being with the two kids, I decided against it. I got them their favorite Calamansi Pie and an order of Iced Chai Chocolate. The cashier was really pleasant to talk to and he was even talking to and joking around with the kids. He got our orders and we got ourselves seated. Our table was just in front of the counter. Since I was busy playing with the kids, I didn’t notice the time. Minutes after minutes, we didn’t get our orders. I was being patient but after a good 20minutes, I went to the counter to ask.

Gawd, a slice of pie and an iced drink for 20 mins? You must be kidding me. I asked politely and gave my receipt and pointed out the time. They got startled! They can’t find my orders in their queue! I noticed that they have served a lot of other customers that came after us but our orders never came! In short, they forgot about our orders and had I not approached them, they wouldn’t know that we were waiting.

The server was quick though in trying to pacify the mad momma in me. He offered to help us move in a corner table so I can easily manage the kids. He even carried all our stuff for us and apologized non-stop.

Anyhow, my kids enjoyed the Calamsi Pie – sour and tart with sweetness in it. It was as usual perfect – creamy and yummy!

I enjoyed my Chai Chocolate on the other hand. The strong taste of Chai surprisingly went well with their chocolate. The two didn’t over power each other. It was such a refreshing drink!

I also asked why they didn’t have the waffle in their menu anymore coz I was also eyeing on it. Staff explained that it’s hard to cook the waffle so they took it out of their menu.

Still love Toby Estate but I’m taking one star for the mishap.
